There’s not much us Aussies love more than a good cut of meat. So, when we’re looking for a butcher to become our new local, we can be pretty critical!

But there’s one butcher that you need not hesitate to trust for any and every occasion. Thomas Farms offer fresh, Aussie produce to the Castle Plaza community. Team member Nicole loves chatting with customers and preparing their orders to the highest standard.

We spoke to the team to learn some foodie tips and tricks. First, we had to get some Thomas Farm product recommendations and team member Nicole shared some of her favourite meaty dishes for these warmer months of the year.

“In spring, I love any kind of lamb as spring lamb is tender and sweet. Accompanied with salad or some vegetables, it’s perfect. There’s so much variety to choose from also, chicken or lamb yiros are quick and easy to prepare and won’t heat up the kitchen too much in the hot summer weather.”

The Thomas Farms team loves building relationships with their customers. Team member Nicole recalled a particular moment that she made someone’s day and that someone made hers.

“We had an elderly lady who had a purse-full of gold coins, but she kept paying with notes as to not keep the person behind her waiting. So, one day, I counted it all out and changed it to notes for her. Including the sale there was over $60 worth of coins. She was very thankful! I was also told by a regular customer that my service is amazing and my smile always brightens their day — that made my day.”

Thomas Farms have an amazing range of beautiful, local produce. So, if Nicole could only eat one thing from the store for the rest of her life, what would she choose? “Beef schnitzel. It’s delicious, quick and easy to cook, and I love it with lemon squeezed over the top. Plus, you can have it in a wrap, with salad or veg.”

Nicole also told us about a product she thinks some people might not know about! “We offer a range of gluten-free products. We make gluten-free schnitzels right there on the spot, so they’re always fresh. Plus, we also have a range of seafood options now available.”

If it’s fresh produce you’re after, make sure you visit the team at Thomas Farms Castle Plaza. “We cut our meat fresh daily and offer friendly, face-to-face customer service. And, the majority of our meat is from South Australia,” said Nicole. If that isn’t reason enough, you’ll also be supporting a locally owned and operated business.
